About Parkinson Society Canada
For over 40 years, Parkinson Society Canada (PSC) has been the national voice of Canadians living with Parkinson’s. With more than 230 chapters and support groups across Canada, PSC’s mission is to fund research, support services, advocacy and education.
Our purpose is to ease the burden and find a cure for the 100,000 Canadians with Parkinson’s disease, and their over 400,000 friends, family and caregivers.
PSC has 12 regional partners, whose collective goal is to provide optimum service to those who need it most — and we are supported by an exceptional Board of Directors that shares our vision.
Parkinson Society Canada is dedicated to providing help and hope. Our immediate focus is to improve the lives of those impacted by Parkinson’s — patients, family, friends and caregivers. Working for a cure our role is multi-faceted:
Advocacy… to municipal, provincial and federal governments — and other organizations that impact people with Parkinson’s.
Education… for the general public, institutions, health care professionals, caregivers and those suffering with Parkinson’s.
Research… into the cause, treatment and ultimately the cure.
Support Services… that include counseling, training and workshops for patients, caregivers and health professionals.
